Parametric 3D Furniture Design
from model to cut list

Cubikos is parametric 3D furniture design software for cabinet makers, millwork shops and interior designers. Set the dimensions and the model builds itself: panels, doors, drawers and hardware, together with the cut list, the shop drawings, the quote and a photorealistic render.

What is parametric 3D furniture design?

Parametric 3D furniture design means the model is driven by rules and dimensions rather than by geometry you draw by hand. You define width, height, depth, panel thickness and construction options; the software derives every panel, door, drawer front and hinge from those parameters. Change one number and the entire piece rebuilds — along with its cut list and drawings.

That is the difference between a 3D picture of a cabinet and a cabinet the shop can actually build. Overlays, clearances, edge banding, back panel grooves and leg layouts are not decoration in a parametric system: they are the construction logic that decides the real size of each panel.

In Cubikos that logic is already written for more than 24 furniture families — closets, kitchens, vanities, TV units and wall cabinets. You are not modeling from scratch: you are configuring a piece that already knows how it is assembled.

Design, break down, sell, build

Four steps from a client measurement to panels on the saw.

1

Design

Pick a parametric furniture type, type in your dimensions and watch it rebuild in 3D in real time, with live dimensioning on the model.

2

Break down

The cut list is generated from the same model — panel sizes, grain direction, edge banding — and exports to Excel with your own prices in the quote.

3

Sell

Render the piece photorealistically and share an interactive 3D link: the client opens doors and drawers from any browser and approves before you cut.

4

Build

Nest the panels on full sheets to cut waste, then hand the shop an exploded assembly view and PDF drawings for the special cuts.

What a parametric furniture design tool has to do

Parametric configurator

Modules that adapt to any dimension. Doors, drawers, hardware and finishes resolve in seconds, not in redrawn geometry.

Library of 24+ furniture families

Closets, kitchens, bathrooms, TV units and wall cabinets, each shipping with its own assembly logic already configured.

Real-time dimensioning

Live dimensions on the 3D model: thicknesses, overlays and clearances recalculate the moment a part moves.

Cut list and quoting

Automatic breakdown of every piece: export the cut list to Excel and deliver a PDF quote priced with your own rates.

Nesting optimizer PRO

Lays parts out across full sheets to minimize offcuts. Less scrap per project, more margin on the same job.

Assembly drawings

Interactive exploded view part by part, plus PDF drawings of the special cuts, so the shop assembles without guessing.

Photorealistic rendering

Instant renders with the Cubikos engine and photorealistic AI renders with studio lighting and real wood textures.

Interactive client links

Share the design as a 3D link: your client opens it in any browser and tries the doors and drawers with a click.

Autosave and cloud

Projects save themselves every few seconds, locally and to the cloud. Works offline and reviews from a phone.

Built for people who have to cut the panels afterwards

  • Cabinet and millwork shops Quote faster, cut less waste and stop losing margin to breakdown mistakes.
  • Furniture designers Explore dimensions and finishes parametrically without redrawing the piece each time.
  • Interior designers and architects Present built-ins in 3D that are already manufacturable, not just renders.
  • Kitchen and closet retailers Configure, price and close the sale in the same session with the client.

Parametric 3D furniture design: common questions

What is parametric 3D furniture design?

It means the model is driven by rules and dimensions instead of drawn geometry. You set width, height, depth, panel thickness and construction options, and the software derives every panel, door, drawer and piece of hardware from those parameters. Change one number and the whole model, its cut list and its drawings update together.

How is it different from regular 3D modeling?

In regular 3D modeling you push geometry around and every size change is manual rework. In a parametric system the construction logic is built in: overlays, edge banding, panel thicknesses, back panel grooves and leg layouts recalculate on their own, so the 3D model always matches what the shop will actually cut.

Does Cubikos generate a cut list from the 3D model?

Yes. Every parametric model produces its own cut list, with panel sizes, grain direction and edge banding, exportable to Excel. The Pro plan adds the nesting optimizer, which lays panels out on full sheets to reduce waste, plus shop drawings and on-screen cut dimensions.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Cubikos runs entirely in the browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, tablets and phones. Projects autosave locally and to the cloud, so a design started on the shop computer can be reviewed on a phone.

Is there a free version?

Yes. The free plan allows unlimited 3D furniture design and includes a 14-day trial of the Pro tools with no credit card. The Pro plan unlocks the nesting optimizer, Excel cut lists, shop drawings and unlimited quotes and client links. See pricing.
